Summer friendship, adventure and trying new things together.
Hiiye'yu Lelum Summer Camp creates a welcoming place for children to spend their summer connecting with friends, exploring the community, and experiencing new activities together.
Camp days begin at the Hiiye'yu Lelum Youth Centre before heading out for activities, adventures, and plenty of time outdoors.
About the Program
Summer Camp is about more than keeping busy during the summer.
It's a place for children to make new friendships, reconnect with familiar faces, build confidence, and discover what they're capable of. With staff there to encourage and support them, children have opportunities to explore new places, try new foods, spend time outdoors, and take on new challenges at their own pace.
For some children, that might mean getting into deeper water for the first time. For others, it might mean coming out of their shell, making a new friend, or simply having someone there to listen.

Every summer looks a little different. Activities and outings may include:

Activities vary by session, funding, staffing, weather, and availability.
Building Confidence
Summer Camp gives children opportunities to try things they may not have experienced before—with encouragement close by when they need it.
Staff celebrate the small and big moments: a child venturing farther into the water, trying something new, finding their confidence in a group, reconnecting with friends, or working through something difficult.
The goal isn't to push children. It's to create a supportive environment where they can explore, build confidence, and know they aren't alone.
Summer Camp Registration
Summer Camp is offered seasonally, with registration opening before the summer program begins. Spaces and activities depend on current funding, staffing, and program capacity.
Preference is given to our Hiiye'yu Lelum members, call our front office to inquire about the membership process.
