Healthiest Babies Possible & Early Years

Lelum ‘u tu S’tsa’-elh teyt-en
A supportive home for mothers and babies to heal, grow and stay together.
Lelum ‘u tu S’tsa’-elh teyt-en is a 24/7 live-in wraparound program for new and expecting mothers who may be at risk of separation from their infant.
Mothers may enter the program during pregnancy to strengthen wellbeing and prepare for their baby’s arrival, or after birth when additional support, complex needs or child safety concerns are present. The program can also support mothers whose infants are temporarily in foster or family care by creating a supervised and supportive pathway toward reunification.
At the heart of the program is a commitment to maternal wellbeing, infant safety, attachment and family preservation.

Keeping Mothers and Babies Together
Lelum ‘u tu S’tsa’-elh teyt-en recognizes the importance of the mother–baby relationship.
The program works collaboratively with mothers, families and service providers to address concerns while creating the stability and support needed for mothers to care for their babies.
Where child protection services are involved, staff can support safety planning, meetings, advocacy and coordination from referral through to transition back into the community.
Wraparound Care
Lelum ‘u tu S’tsa’-elh teyt-en works with health, child and family services, cultural supports and community organizations so mothers do not have to navigate complex systems alone.
Supports may include maternity and public health care, mental health and substance use services, counselling, healing from violence, food security, parenting programs, cultural programming and other Hiiye’yu Lelum services.
Staff can help coordinate appointments, transportation, meetings and referrals, reducing barriers and creating greater continuity between services.
Transitioning Forward
Support is intended to help mothers build greater stability, confidence and connection as they prepare for life beyond the program.
This can include strengthening parenting and life skills, continuing recovery and healing, building community connections and preparing for housing and greater independence.
