Family Support Worker Program
Practical support, advocacy and connection for individuals and families.
Hiiye’yu Lelum’s Family Support Worker Program provides individualized support to help individuals and families navigate challenges, access services and have their voices heard.
Family Support Workers build relationships with clients and provide ongoing support based on the needs and circumstances of each person or family.

How We Can Help
Family Support Workers can provide:
-
Advocacy — supporting clients in meetings and helping ensure their voices and needs are heard.
-
Service Navigation — helping individuals and families connect with Hiiye’yu Lelum programs and other community services.
-
Referrals & Connections — identifying additional resources and supports that may be helpful.
-
Meeting Support — attending meetings alongside clients when additional support or advocacy is needed.
-
Ongoing Family Support — providing consistent, relationship-based support to individuals and families on the program caseload.
-
Practical Supports — connecting eligible clients with available resources and other forms of practical assistance.
-
Groups & Activities — offering opportunities that support wellness, connection and relationship building.
Mothers Morning Out
Mothers Morning Out provides a welcoming opportunity for mothers to come together, connect and participate in activities that support wellbeing.
Arts, crafts and shared activities create space for relationships and friendships to grow while providing mothers with time to connect with others.
About Supports
Family Support Workers recognize that every family's circumstances are different. Support begins by understanding what is happening for you, identifying what you need and determining how we can walk alongside you.
You can be connected to the program through another Hiiye’yu Lelum service or community organization, and self-referrals are welcome.
